Billy Heritage

Based from our North East office, Billy recently joined CWH and brings over seven years’ experience across cargo inspection, marine surveying, P&I consultancy and investigation.

Billy began his career in the building trade before moving into the shipping and marine sector, where he developed extensive experience in the inspection, sampling, testing and quantification of oil, gas, chemical and grain cargoes. He subsequently gained experience in bank fraud investigations, further developing his investigative and analytical skills, before moving into marine surveying and P&I consultancy.

Billy has undertaken a wide range of marine, cargo and P&I surveys throughout the UK and internationally. His experience includes cargo inspections, vessel and dock damage investigations, heavy lift and project cargo warranty surveys, draft and bunker surveys, and assessments relating to port infrastructure damage.

He has particular expertise in liquid and gas cargoes, alongside broad experience across dry and containerised cargoes, vessel damage and P&I matters. Billy takes a calm, methodical approach to his work, with a strong focus on preparation, communication, attention to detail and building effective working relationships.

Outside of work, Billy enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and following his beloved Middlesbrough FC.
